Hello all,

I am in the process of fixing up a pretty run down 356 Speedster, am VERY short of available spares in this Country, and was suggested to check with Vintage Speedsters, and so joined the forum from their "owners" section.

thanks. Will post a pic or two in due course.

regards

Alan

Kind regards

Thanks, just busy finding my way round the new forum.

@ Wolfgang, no chance, this is also a locally built Replica from the 80's with Beetle machinery. No way I can afford an original, even if I could find one. But this little car certainly draws enough attention, and considering it's for weekend cruises, it's perfectly equipped for my needs.

regards

Looking for or trying to establish a relationship with parts suppliers can be daunting.  I'm not sure how the cell phone business works in S. Africa, but here unlimited minutes are common.  I would suggest, that you spend the time and minutes talking "face to face" with US based suppliers. It is still a small part of US car parts business here, and a relationship will yield you net better prices than blind internet ordering.  Chat them Up!

Welcome to the Forum.

And like you, I am a a way off the action in the USA.

I have purchased quite a lot of parts to complete my car from both Vintage Speedsters - see the comprehensive spare action section.

I have also purchased gauges, badges, mirrors, emblems and other parts from Sierra Madre in Pasadena.

You will find the forum members a great resource for information on suppliers and general assistance.

Importantly, good luck with your restoration.

Bernie
