Hey folks.  Wanted to check in.  I bought Vic's (Lakeflyer) Intermeccanica, which was posted in the classifieds a few weeks back.  It's beautiful and Vic is the nicest guy in the world.  Looking forward to picking it up soon.

I'm sure I'll have questions, as I have no air-cooled skills other than basic 911 experience.

Looking forward to the madness.  May even make it out to Carlisle.

With my job I need about 6 months notice but I'll definitely attend a Deals Gap trip.  Tyler for most of those roads, suspension and tires will be more important than speed... but obviously you already know this.  Except for the Foothills Parkway that you mentioned.  Lots of long gentle sweepers.  Averaging the ton through there on a sport bike is pretty easy.  In our cars not so much but it still would be fun.  I am green with envy.

WTTM, Tyler. Driving and grinning will be a great start! Make sure there's enough oil in it and air in the tires. So, do we get to see some pics of your new car? I'm not familiar with Vic's ride. What size engine is in it, and do you know any details (cam, compression, heads, exhaust tube size, carbs)? Transaxle ring & pinion? How high does it rev with power? I'm a details guy; I have to know these things....Al

Hey Al,

Picked up the car yesterday and made the 1h20m drive home, including some time on the interstate.  70mph indicated was more like 64mph on my GPS and more or less 3600rpm.  The car has a linear torque curve, and goes eagerly to 5k rpm where I called it quits.  Redline is marked at 6k.  Otherwise, the car and I were both content to stay between 2-4k for day 1.
