Good afternoon All!
Hope everyone has good weather for this weekend's festivities. Unfortunately, we don't pick ours up until next week so we'll have to wait 'til next year.
About a year ago, while looking for a '69 Firebird 400 Convertible, carousel red with parchment interior ( very particular is my better half! ) my wife, Angela saw an original 356 Speedster at a show in Connecticut and immediately fell in love. Flawless and gorgeous, it had the price tag to match and I just couldn't justify the cost but neither did I want to disappoint her. So it began ... pouring over stacks of books and piles of magazines, hours of online research. Then after three or four months, we decided on a replica. But which one? From which builder? Used or made to order? A Classic or something a bit wild, personal and one of a kind? So ... more research and a few more months. After looking at forty or more in person and online from Washington State to Florida and New York to California, I finally decided that she wasn't going to find one that had everything she wanted and for the money, buying one preowned and then having it redone seemed like a bit of a waste of time, so why not just have one built and then, last Friday, after all that time and all those hours and all the back and forth, I found The Outlaw ( gotta have a name ) eight miles from home. She still needs a few personal touches but she's about as perfect as you could want and gorgeous!
I took a ton of inspirations from everyone's posts. Thank you All!
Better pictures soon.
Cheers!
Michael
