I'll start.

Why doesn't the un-named Brazilian rim manufacturer that most of us have on our cars (chrome) just charge a few bucks more per unit so their rims have a decent amount of chrome. A cloud passes overhead and my rims want to start rusting! Frankly the chrome is crap. I would gladly pay a bit more per rim to have the rims chromed correctly the first time.

Add your own gripe to the list.

Erik, That's a terrific observation on a cloud passing over and rusting your rims. As you probably know the Clean Air Boys have pretty well shut most of the plating industry in this country, perhaps elsewhere also. Many U.S. standards have been adopted overseas. If you really want the "good" chrome, go look at the strreet rod builders and get sources from them. It should be a three step process (someone correct me here if I am wrong, this is from memory of which I have little left)of nickel, copper, chrome. But don't feel too bad, I have an outlaw speedster with polished Fuchs wheels and they get pretty dull too, mainly cause I drive it more than I polish it. Like the dealer once askedlong ago "do you want whitewalls?" To which I replied "do they corner any faster?"
