2001 JPS flared body.
Front: fiberglass to road = 7.5 inches.
Front: bottom of nerf bars to road = 5 inches (they scrap occasionally.)
Front: bottom of rubber air dam to road = 4 inches (hey - it's rubber).

Rear: fiberglass to ground = 9.5 inches.
Rear: bottom of nerf bars to ground = 6.5 inches (they scrap occasionally).

In retrospect, I'm really glad I got nerf bars! They are working, though I think not as originally designed as bumpers.
Hard to answer your question, because I just lucked into my solution. It depends on your local driving conditions I would think. The bottom of my nerf bars frequently scrape (nothing serious, but the chrome is sure gone) every time I leave my driveway. Several local streets have serious "rain gutters" at intersections because they were paved too many times without changing the whole grade level. Some speed bumps (not many) cause problems. Because of my nerf bars, I don't really worry about it. But they definitely contact the pavement nearly every ride. Now if all I had down there was a fiberglass valance . . . that would really concern me! Granted, not many owners like nerf bars. Maybe a hidden "skid rail / plate" that hangs just below the fiberglass?
Ricardo, the stance does appear to be lower but I think that is because of the rear wheel arch is lower than the front rather than the ride hight being lower, yes I do agree with you that it looks mean but I would like it looking a little meaner, not too much as we have a lot of speed bumps in the UK.
Chassis is coming on well, all ready for sheet steel, I just have to make a hydrolic press after the Easter break to mould the floor into somthing a little more ridgid as it's only 1mm thick.
Mick, no photos. I'm an analog guy. That's why I own a speedster! My wife is more digital, but she hasn't been sucessful in "training" me how to download and store photos. 8000 pixs of the grandson, and no speedster pix. Can this marriage last another 40 years? Maybe, if I stay out in the garage?
