My ground strap looked a little suspect and I decided to swap it with a 4 ga. battery cable from O’Reilly’s. Little did I know that the old Vintage Speedster shop would more than likely turn a single stock ground strap into two by cutting it in half; that’s what it looks like: no terminal on one side. Maybe that has been the cause of my dimly lit alternator light ever since I got the car from the shop over 20 years ago. We’ll report back as I drive it.

After installing the new ground cable I decided to torque the lug nuts of my rear left wheel. I guess I met the 75 ft/lbs. I’m old too; what the hell?

WOW !! I think I would take a break and have a cold one before something else shows up. It might end up being a nice weekend after all. That cable is sad news ..........

So far so good; but the real test is night driving with lights on; that’s when everything seems to go haywire. Will keep you posted.
