Looks like—and I'm pretty sure Merklin will agree—a pretty easy refurb/build. Maybe even by Carlisle?
What do you all think of this?
Does anyone have a good solid pan for sale?

lol, the cost to do that one right would be astronomical... Good one Ed.
itll buff out
@edsnova I read your comment. LMAO!
This is funny to you?
40 hours to complete.
So I checked. Wheelbase for the 250 GT and the 1969 Beetle are both 94.5 inches.
With the long trunk overhang you could easily fit a Suby 6 in the back. It'd probably be best to build some kind of huge "Jack-in-the-Box" thing with a styrofoam V12 to put under the front hood (after the car is otherwise fully sorted, of course)...
I think it's a perfect project for someone like @WOLFGANG
Take three VW engines linked together under the hood. It may not be a 'V' but it's the right number of cylinders.
That's the spirit, Lane!
DANG (update). Upon further review, this is the earlier long wheelbase car which is 102.4 inches. Which means you'd have to cut the body to make it fit on the pan. That'd be sacrilege.

Gen 1 Miata is 105.3. I'm sure you could trim a little fat off of that pan.
I'll pass. Need a truck (or think I do). Looking at using a late model Miata donor and 5 sheets of 1/4" marine plywood. ZOOM-ZOOM
Why would someone cut it into 5 pieces? Maybe to use to make a fiberglass mold? I did think a couple minutes about this cut up FF Avenger GT a few years ago.
my neighbor Tony says he can slap a Fiat 500 engine in there easy..www.fixitagaintony.com
Custom tube frame and an LS!

The comment about it fitting on a VW pan. You were serious? I apologize. I took it as humor.
