Just thought someone may be thinking of doing the same thing so here's a coulpe photos of what I did to my new Hella headlight buckets. They are now wired to the acc. terminal of my Ign. switch........(this took a couple amps off the Headlight sw. too)

Hopefully they come out this time....Bruce

Halos? Are there any angels there also?
Bruce that is pretty cool. Where did you get the lights
Roger...They are from superbrightleds.com.......P/N FLT-CW24 24inch . I trimmed 3 inches off to get the right circumference. To trim them I had to pull the LED strip out to find the cut index lines (one inch increments). Getting them back in the silicone tube was impossible until I used an air hose to blow a pull string thru the tube. I tied the string onto the LED strip and then pulled it back into silicone tube. ......Bruce
Bob....There were "Arc-Angels" flying thru them when I turned them on !! They're pretty cool as long as they aren't grounded in the wrong place...........Bruce
Very Nice, does that LED come on only? Does it stay on with the Low beam ? Can you take a pict with the low beam on as well... they look real cool, I have those Hella lights as well.
IAM-Ray...I'll take a photo tonight. Currently they are wired to the acc. terminal on my Ign. Sw. so the are on whenever the engine is running. They are now my "DRLs". They will be on when the headlights are on as well. They are mounted just on the edge of the aiming part of the parabolic reflector so they don't interfere with the projected beam and move with any adjustment made.....Bruce
I did a CFL Halo back in 2006 on my 300 SRT and always wanted to do this on my 356.
Very nice Bruce...When will the kits be ready for sale?
Was there not a small bulb at the bottom front? did you remove this light?
Bill....Sorry....no kits in the future. Not sure they'ed work in all headlight buckets.
IAM-RAY......Yes there is a small socket for a bulb and I left it intact. This small bulb item is superior to the "big bulb" found in the VW headlight buckets because it is positioned in a place that takes advantage of the parabolic reflector for the head light bulb. I just wired my "halos" as an addition. Bout time to go take a photo for you.........Bruce
Here's some photos I took last night. The photos don't show it but with the headlights on there is an eerie yellow tint in the middle. This is due to a color difference between the LED halo bulbs and the Halogen bulbs of the headlights. Later when I change to LED headlight bulbs that yellow will go away. They are interesting and can be seen day or night though....Bruce

Bruce ... looks good. So you are seeing the halo even with the low beam lights on... that is interesting. do you know that the H4 bulbs are available in 4000K light and they are much whiter and that a company in the UK makes an adapter to convert P43T to P45T....
I guess you could also wire the hallows only for daylight driving and turn them off when the headlight switch is activated.
I am waiting for someone to come out with brighter LED's and test them out in Hella Euro's .... before I try them... remembering that I use 80/100W which is a brighter light right now than most LED's that are out there. Just saying.
RAY.....Your over my head when you talk part numbers etc. I would like to buy a couple of LED bulbs that get rid of the "yellow", are brighter and don't have much for heat sync's in the back that will clear all the wiring attached to the bulb. Could you suggest something that falls into this area ? I see some even have little fans back there to get rid of the heat. I'd like to keep it simple if that's possible.......Bruce
Sorry Bruce I should have been clearer in my discussion I was actually talking about the wavelength of the light representing the colour.
" Colour temperature is a measurement in degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a specific type of light source. (Kelvin is indicated by the unit symbol K.)

Bruce, your car looks possessed
Ron...It's funny you should say that! My Wife said the same thing ! She commented that it looks like one of those demon cars in movies where the car follows you around waiting for the right "opportunity" ! .........Bruce
Ray...Thanks for sending the graph. Do you think that the LED bulb that superbright.com sell for my lights would be brighter and whiter? I find it interesting that we are now talking in Kelvin for headlights ! The only time I expressed Kelvin before was when I would take photo's underwater of certain Anemones and the color would come out green rather than pink. After talking to some pro's I had to buy different strobe lights that would produce around 5000 Kelvin to get the pink. My guess is that these new headlight bulbs will do the same...alter the color of things ?
Another question...Do the heat syncs produce a LOT of heat or just get warm ? The ones I'm looking at from superbright shows 4 flexible braided copper loops used as heat syncs. I calculate that these could be arranged to fit and not touch anything (like the wiring).
I went for a drive last night. A guy made a U-turn just to ask me what kind of lights I had...That was fun......Bruce
Peek-a-boo! I'm about to run over you....
That was neet... I know that someone else on the list bought some that have a fan and protrude a bit out the back ... My point was simply that to match the colour This is how to do it
I have not tried Led's for headlights so ihope someone else can comment
Also the bucket if you really needed to could be cut to allow clearance ... Just saying
Ray...I never thought of putting a bubble in the rear of the headlight cavity in the fender......Not too hard to do......a little plaster form with some wax mold release...apply some resin and fiberglass....and voila !......Bruce
My LED headlights have a heat sink at the back.
I cut a hole in the back of the cavity with a hole saw and glued in a round metal thing I found - it was kind of like a tuna fish can but maybe smaller diameter.
Michael.....What LED bulbs did you put in ? Do you have the H-4 style bulb socket ? Are your lights brighter or just more white ?
Cutting a hole in the cavity is what i had in mind but I want to stay with with fiberglass for the bubble for rust reasons. I'm glad that someone out there has already done this.
Thank You
I got my LED lights from the link below. It was the whole light unit, not just the bulbs. I see that they have since redesigned the things. With the heat sinks they show now you may not have to cut the hole.
