Dear listers,
I was wondering if anyone could help.
My replica has a few features that make it look closer to an american specification Speedster. One of them are the headlights (these repros are made in Brazil). They have the plain front glass and the bulb is a big piece that includes the bulb itself, the mirror and the lense. I hope I'm making myself understood. You can find the same kind of headlights in the main photo of Chesil Speedsters site (www.chesil.co.uk).
Are there any 12v halogen bulbs for this specification? Does anyone has the brand and referrence for these?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.

George,
As always, thanks for your help. Yes, it's the sealed beam headlight I'm talking about. I didn't know the name, but I checked it on the Stoddard catalog.
I'll try to check for these H4 conversions.
One question: you said I maid need to rewire; is this because the connectors are different for non halogen bulbs? Excuse the ignorant question.
Thanks. Best regards.

Miguel, the H4 bulbs come in various wattage ratings that are higher than standard sealed beam units. The current draw may be more than your current wiring or light switch is rated for. If necessary you can rewire - use a 12V duplex relays with heavier wire to the lights tripped by the light switch. The switch just operates the relays, and you'll have to figure out how to do the dip switch. You might be better off having a shop that does good electrical work rewire the car's headlight circuits.
