I hope you can help me? I am building my own semi monococue chassis with formula 1 type front suspension for my speedster replica, I would like to fit an umbrella type handbrake as I believe the original has, but can not find a clear picture of where it is fitted. I found one on an old Bedford van.
Pics of my chassis should be in the photo gallery in a couple of weeks.
I am fitting an Alfa cloverleaf flat 4 engine and I have also worked out how to get an Alfa 33 gearbox to run backwards if anyone is interested?
Hope you can help.

Mick

It's being made from steel box section(sills, A posts and B posts are huge 120mmx60mmx3.8mm)then most of the rest is 50x50x1.5mm tubing sheeted in 1mm steel with a 350x350x1.5mm central tunnel(the underside is open but triangulated for access to the gear change. It sound heavy, but it's not too bad, also it can't be too light as I am not using the very heavy VW suspension, I need some weight too stop the front end lifting!! Also because I am not using the torsion bar rear suspension I think I can move the engine forward 75 to 100mm to try and get close to 50/50 weight distribution, just not sure what angle the drive shafts can run at safely.
Peter, the rear is going to use modified Porsche 924 semi trialing arm with coil overs instead of the torsion bar and the front will be double A arm with pushrod rising rate,F1 and Indy style!! Also the front hubs are Porsche 924.
I am using an Alfa Romeo steering rack which steers from the centre, so I can have extra long A arms.
