I got a chance to check the ititial fit of the hardtop on the car being stored at my Father-in-Laws house this morning. It looks pretty good. The front fit is quite nice but the rear will have to be stretched at bit. I'm very pleased with the fit at the rear of the door. The car is an older IM, but the windshield was donated by Cary Hines of Beck so it will fit those cars. I'm not sure if the windshield fit is the same as the others...Vintage, CMC etc.

David - that is pretty dang cool! Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
You can see already it's absolutely going to work.
how are you planning on cutting it to fit?
Are you going to extend (and widen) it past the snaps?
Glad that worked out for you too!
Not much cutting required, more of extending the rear about 3/4" -1" and the rear sides about 1/2" to get passed the snaps. Then find a suitable rubber trim for a nice finished fit. I think it may need three "centering pins" to keep it in the correct position laterally and then just fasten it down with a couple of Mangoish over center levers onto the existing bolt holes that hold down the convertible roof. Dedicated side windows will be made of plexi to fit the roof. With their additional height, they may need a separate quick release type of fastener at the top to attach to the roof sill. Or, perhaps I can brace them at the bottom a little better than my current side windows are. The tops of those are supported by the flap on the convertible roof to stop them from flapping in or out the top. I won't have time to dig into this project till about June which leaves a little time to pop a mould if there was any interest....
David, why don't you get a piece of Hartz cloth and double or triple it. Use it as an extension and put snaps on it. You can attach it to the bottom of the hardtop, put some thick rubber under it and snap iton the rear deck. Done!
Hmm...nice one, Danny. Thanks. You got the wheels turning now. I've already made a FG L shaped flange that goes around the top of firewall / rear deck area just ahead of the snaps from an earlier effort. Bond that to the top, attach the Hartz to it with the foam underneath and a small bit of rubber trim.
