Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Looking good
Me too! Scraping 50 year old foam and glue from the underside now = PIA!
A Targa Speedster! It actually looks good without the rear window and the hard tonneau. Assuming in HI you are looking for primarily sun protection.
Wondered who the hell Bill "Prout" was until I saw those wonderful Monsteras in your yard and it finally clicked - It's Halakahiki Bill!!
Hey! I'm OLD! I'm allowed to have lapses and I've been cranking a LOT of miles on my bike, lately....1,000 clicked past today for this season. At least I can still find my way home!
Anyway, I agree with Greg (who also probably has Monsteras growing in his yard, but he ain't in Hawaii, fer sure!) THAT hard top is gonna look awesome! (It also gives you a place to strap your Long Board!)
So sorry you have to go through the reconstruction bit - unforeseen, for sure, but the end result will bless you with a new top AND new fiberglassing skills (and who doesn't want to learn new stuff??)
Gordo, I grew up fixing surfboards so I am quite familiar with working with FG.
The rear window will be deleted as Greg guessed shade is the goal...My soft top just could not hold up as a daily driver.
It will be unique for sure!
Gonna be boss. Looking fwd to the finished project, as are you, I'm sure.
@Bill Prout Bill, that will be a great project and I think it will make your Speedster even more bad-a$$ (especially black-on-black)!
I like the look of the hardtop. Doug Kingston, one of our SOCers who drives out from Arizona for our annual West Coast Cruise, has one that looks awesome!
Best of luck with your project, and looking forward to seeing the final results!
