Got the hardtop side windows in today. Came out not too bad but no road test yet. Still needs a longer rubber seal on the bottom of the glass but I managed to get a pretty tight fit at that pesky location where the glass meets the windshield frame. Sorry for the blurry pics.

There really isn't " all that stuff". I had side curtains with the soft top and the soft top took up some space in the back when retracted. I do like the convertible aspect in good weather though and will likely revert to using the hardtop in the Spring or Fall seasons. I've probably gained about 30 % more carrying space as it sits.

 

It's been a fun challenge to get the hardtop done. It's certainly not "Factory Quality" but presentable.

Giday, James. I used a rear seal around the rear perimeter of the hardtop that could be described as a   U   shape with a 5/8" tail coming off the bottom of the right side sort of hanging off down in the 5 o'clock area. It sealed well on the left and right but in the end, while final fitting the clamps to hold down the hardtop around your shoulder area, left and right, I needed a bit more around the center rear area of the skirt. The U shaped stuff with the tail is available here from most glass / upholstery shops.

 

Things changed a bit after I fitted the rear window so I added a bit of D shaped foam cell gasket in the end also. It really is a try and fit and see what you need type of thing.

 

Keep at your project every time you get a chance...even just to clean up the shop a bit. An older gent told me that years ago when scratch building my first airplane. It's not a big job....just a whole bunch of nice small one's along the process.
