Has anyone put a "harness bar" in their Speedster? a braced bar that goes across the car behind the seats to attach the shoulder pieces of 4 or 5 point seatbelts. Popular in some 911's you must pick up hard points at the back of the car. I have no idea if it is possible in our cars?

I don't know if this is what your looking for but this is what mine looks like, At first I had a single point where the shoulder straps were secured but this caused the belts to be too close together and squeezed my neck on both sides. I separated the belts and built the aluminum bracket that still fastened to the original mounting point but separated the belts to make it more tolerable around my neck.

Very nice, roll bar and harness bar. I was wondering if one could pick up the frame an just put a bar across the back of the car behind the seats, I’m not sure if it would matter that the attachment points would be below shoulder height. I’ve seen the setup on 911’s that have a single attachment that Y’s to two shoulder straps.
I think they need to be shoulder height. That's why I recommended the Miata roll bar. Would think you'd want your chest to absorb any impact not your collar bones or neck. Most cars with 3 point harnesses anchor the upper mount on an adjustable slide mount.
shoulder harnesses or belts must be mounted vertically. Seat belts are not to be mounted to sheetmetal, but to frame, rollcage or factory seatbelt mounting points. Shoulder harness should not be anchored more than 1”–4” below shoulder height. Mounting below this height may cause additional spinal compression.
I think your correct the point at which the seatbelt comes from must be above the shoulder to work at all. The back of a Speedster is too low for a bar by itself to work.
I believe it's not so much the distance below the shoulders as much as it is the angle of the belts. The distance below the shoulders could be different, as the distance rearward to the attachment point can vary.
Crow industries recommends 0 to 10 degrees below the shoulder maximum.
