OK, I saw the movie Harper that I won at our Morro bay dinner and gift exchange. man ole man what a movie. I had to laugh at the actors and how corny their craft was at that time.. Even Paul Newman has some silly responses and face expressions. the speedie looked very cool an early model 56 with the bee hive tail lights, all primered out and bondo all over the left fender. The movie had some really good actors in it too. Pauls wife Ann Bancroft, Shelly Winters, Robert Wagner, he played some hep cat, very cool too. The story line was very easy to predict and I was right on who dun-it! So if you get the chance to watch this movie I would because they do have a lot of scences with the Speedie, especially driving some mountian roads, and you can tell newman was actually doing the driving too. Very cool.

Later,

Speedster "D" Pauls STILL cool at 76'

I don't think his wife was Ann Bncroft, maybe in the movie but not in real life. Meet Paul at his home in Conneticut many years ago at the Sharp garage and then at their home in Westport, Ct. Waht a class act. At the time they (Paul and Joanne ) were fighting to get town approval to open a dance school at their Westport home using the stables they renovated so that inter-city NY students had a place to expand their creative abilities during the summer. He and the Sharp team were more than gracious in letting me into the inner sanctum of the Sharp/Neuman operation. Also gave me a crew pass for a race they were in at the Glenn.
