Has anyone done a PPF to their 550?

@Chappy not sure where you live...i live near ventura ca...i had my car done by colberns in ventura....you get what you pay for so "save your dough & hire a pro"  ....our cars are very curvy and not for a novice to attempt unless you want to visit the "rabbit hole".... my car came out fabulous!...not cheap, but an investment and well worth it....after PPF & ceramic coating, my car will never get dirty enough to ever wash again with soap & a bucket 

@jncspyder your car looks incredible. I knew PPF/Ceramic would be pricey. I think it’s worth it in the long run though. The place I went and got a quote from is very reputable and basically does higher end cars here in town. I pulled up and they had a few Ferraris, an SVJ and a GT3 that were getting worked on.

however, I was always under the impression cost is based on size of the vehicle as one of the main determining factors. They informed me that because there isn’t a rendering to do the 550 already, which would save them time, labor etc, it would all have to be custom. Bit of sticker shock. Basically what they quoted just to do the front is what I was expecting for the entire vehicle.

Im reaching out to 2 other recommended spots in town to see what they quote.

A GT3 Touring full body PPY with rendering files costs about $7,500 from a quality shop. And that's with the digital files. XPel is constantly acquiring cars to have them scanned for rendering files. I was asked to transport a brand new 2022 Ford GT40 back to XPel so they could scan it because they didn't have the file.

True. But I’d take a WAG I spend $1K/year 10 quarters at a time at the car wash. This should last at least 3 years.

I’ve posted before that my Glossit details (not even ceramic) last twice that. And that’s just a paint treatment, no vinyl coating. This is 5 years later, but it’s always indoors or covered.

Gotta run it down to Las Vegas for some work. If the repairs aren’t too much I’m going to get a re-fresh. The Glossit shop is where I’ve had it done twice before (in 17 years).
