Alan, This looks to be one of your creations from years past,around 2004-2005. Can you positively ID this car? Looks as though the wheels have been changed, but it definitely has Merklin the magician written all over it! It was a great car when you built it,and it still looks great today.

Those blinkers and tail lights are clearly Merklinesque. Like the stance and the wheels as well.

Had those wheels in a darker finish on a TR250. Those just need to be bigger to fill out the widebody wheel wells.
Al - Great catch on the Merklin Motors build. Must be #8 or so? Not too too far (7 hrs) from me in FL. Even 1/2" or better wheel spacers would help fill out the wheel wells!

I know I am drifting here, sorry Dr. clock, but what is the limit on spacer thickness that you feel comfortable with, or it doesn't make a difference?
Maybe a race car guy can comment. Pushing wheels out puts extra stress on wheel bearings and lug bolts. You need to frequently check wheel bearings (especially with quality of current ones) plus longer lug bolts are needed. I've read that 8 complete bolt threads are needed to securely bolt on the wheels. I'm using 1/2 spacers on front to clear calipers and allow room for center cap (912 2Ls). I've seen 1" plus used on 911!
I have used up to 1.25" spacers made from high quality billet aluminum.... yes this car was built by me and the kids I taught at an auto shop program for At Risk Youth around 2004....super fast Raby powered ride and finished in an Audi silver metallic Interior and top is navy blue. They ( Dealer ) want $30k for it, I would say it is worth $23-$24k + -
