Hi Folks,

I am currently finalising compliance details with a local Australian engineer whilst I am progressing discussions with potential speedster/s and have a couple of questions that I have been asked that am hoping you may be able to assist.

  1. Is anyone able to confirm if the standard seats in the early IM’s (and CMC’s) were purpose built or from a donor vehicle?? If purpose-built, were they a fibreglass ‘shell’ that was upholstered and bolted to the floor pan? (photo below - thanks Kevin )
  2. Is anyone able to confirm if the windscreens in the early IM’s were laminated safety glass? I am assuming this one will likely be a simple “Yes” but the question was posed to me and I couldn’t give a confident answer.

I did email Henry at Intermeccanica using info@intermeccanica.com just in case he had some knowledge but haven’t heard back as yet. I know he would be a busy man!

Guys, once again thanks in advance for any info you can provide. It is always gratefully received!

 Kind Regards,

Tony

Yes to the windshields being laminated glass (DOT/Safety glass is the stenciling on them).

CMC/FF furnished seats were fiberglass shells covered with foam/vinyl.  A wise builder uses large washers or other reinforcement so bolts don't pull thru fiberglass or thin metal floor pan.red seats

Hi @WOLFGANG,

Kind Regards,
