I'm having the shocks replaced and a couple of defered maintenance items done in preparation for the west Coast run. My pal Kevin is helping out.

I see you're doing some suspension work too....
"Yeah, I got a new set of shocks......Real nice, pretty, RED ones.
But they didn't exactly fit, so I replaced the entire suspension around them.
Now.....They fit fine!"
Good catch on the tunnel cracks, Larry. That's a popular-seeming hole left on the tunnel on a lot of cars and stiffens things up nicely when a plate is welded in.
Having the shocks replaced......good one!

Dang! labull, a major frame rebuild was not what I was expecting to see when I read 'shocks' and 'deferred maintenance', I was thinking oil change and tune-up...LOL...
Yep, those are definitely new shocks. And to think I got excited about adjusting my own valves?!
Larry, WOW, good on you! Now we'll NEVER be able to keep up with you. Looking forward to seeing your car when you get those new shock installed.
Kinda jealous
Posting some progress photos lifted from the coolrydes web page. Looks like the car will be ready next week! I'm looking forward to getting it back and trying it out.
Thanks for the comments!

Kinda jealous??! I am in awe. I'd love to have this set up, it looks astonishing, and probably works SO much better. I really want that R&Psteering box. That would be THE answer. If it is not to gauche to ask, or even if it is: what does a rebuild like this cost??
Larry,
Sweet.
Kelly (my apologies for being so forward, Oh Great El Frazoo;I am averting my eyes in the hope that I won't be struck down from afar)- I believe the Mendeola front suspension is in the neighborhood of about 3,000 or $3500, and the rear is about the same.

There's always next time....
Larry, that looks OUTSTANDING! I hope it works well for you. Should be really easy to set the ride height now.
I'm not kinda jealous, I'm completely jealous!
Here are some progress photos, the car should be home this weekend. I really like the new wheels and wide fives. Kevin has done an outstanding job. The Tawdry speedster has never looked better. Looking forward to trying all the new stuff out on a run to Palomar Observatory.
Thanks for the supportive comments.
Larry
Me too. Very nice.
Cool as hell!
It's just not fair -- I want one like this too
