Hey all.
I just installed some headlamp stone guards and while I thought it strange that they didn't fit tight or lock into place, I didn't think to check if the lights worked before I put everything back together. That was last night. Today was the first great weather day we've had in a while in WI, so i took it out and put it through the paces. A little highway to get her warmed up and then nearly lost it pushing it through some HAIRY switchbacks going through a tight wooded area heading down to Lake Michigan. I realised when I got home that despite turning on the headlights, they weren't lit up. Are the electricals for VS set up so that if one doesn't light they all don't. I only took one headlamp out of the assembly in the installation process, since I believe these particular guards are external mounts, but maybe I'm wrong and that's why they don't seem to fit right. Hey, Vacaville guy, any input? I know you never installed 'em,NIB, but I missed a killer late night 55 degree drive. I know you CA guys are thinking what's the big deal, but we won't have another one of those for at least a month. To synopsize, one headlamp pulled, BOTH not lighting up. I'll try an dpost pix tommorrow, I'm sure they're not installed properly.

I'M EVEN LESS MECHANICALLY INCLINED THAN I THOUGHT. almost impossible

I took the light assembly back out and everything seemd nice and secure. I'd love to check the fuse, but I looked all over and can't find a fuse box? Maybe I won't be able to drive this car at night. Not a big deal, I can't drive it in the rain or the snow either. Maybe a model would have been a better way to go, but they all look like toys.
I have the same question about the fuse box....on my IM the book says it is behind a flap of carpet behind the left finder area? I guess i could unscrew the carpet trim screws to look, but this seems like a bit of a pain just to look at fuse box? Since I currently don't have any electrical components not working except the tach, I haven't bothered to check it out. Does anyone know if this is what you do to access the fuse box? 1994 IM
OK, found the fuse box. The fuse is fine. I guess I also don't understand where to ground. There are 2 wires, 1 black and 1 white that both seem well secured to a couple screws. I'm gonna pick up a new headlamp in case it burned out while monkeying around with it. Thanks for the ideas folks.

Ron: Nice Picture - I won't show a picture of my CMC, though, too embarassed by the rats nest of wires up there! I kept hooking up wires "just to get them to work" with the intention of shortening them later to make them neater - Well, that hasn't yet happened.....

Luke: Before you buy a new headlight set, find someone with a voltmeter to probe the connector on the back of the headlight to see if there's any voltage there - maybe that same friend could help you trace the wires to find where the voltage stops!
