During a recent discussion with my brother I learned that the dust shields on M Benz disc brakes years ago were removed due to excessive heat build up. Has there been any of that heat build up reported with the dummy, finned drum brakes that builders have been installing on member Spyders. I don't know how close the discs are to those drum housings to know if the air directed at the discs do an adequate job of cooling. Thanks Karl Dempwolf

Given the extremely light weight of these cars, I wouldn't think that heat build-up would ever be much of a problem. I've driven mine fairly hard over some pretty steep mountain roads and never seen any kind of fade or warping.
