Has anyone fitted any heat shielding in the void behind and above the silencer? I’m concerned this area will get very hot and a potential issue. I’ve looked at heat blankets that stick to the underside of the body - is this a normal procedure? What have others done to protect this area? Thanks!

I used something like this on my TD replica. The muffler runs right under the valance/stand-off for the bumper, and I didn't want it to burn. Lined it with that foil et voila! That was 10 years ago.
For good measure I used the same stuff on the Spyder's underpan where the pipes and muffler are.
Edsnova - is it self-adhesive or how did you fix it in place?
Peel and stick.
I used the same stuff as Ed on the bottom of my fuel tank and the top of the footwell in my Spyder.
It protects the gas tank and fiberglass from the gas heater exhaust pipe. I also ran the pipe inside a thermal sleeve.
Bought some heat shielding, £50 but that’s the price of peace of mind!
