This morning I took my speedster out and turned on the heater box, when I turn it off it stayed on. Tried a few time.Wondering if a cord came loose, has this happened to anyone else? Thanks for any feed back!

Pretty common.
Most likely, the cable attached to the arm/actuator on the side of the heater box has become loose. It should go into a barrel fitting, captive to the actuator arm on one end with the cable going perpendicularly through the barrel and a set screw to lock it in place. Re-adjust the cable/actuator, re-tighten the screw and you'll be fine.
Jack it up or craw under - one of the cables or heater box arms (levers in photo) is probably rusted/bent so it won't return to off. Just push with your hand or a stick.
Wait... These things have heat?!
Yup.
And some of us have heat without even having heater boxes.
It’s like “Miraculous Combustion”!
