I have taken the fan unit out of my car to make room for the gas heater. It has a simple push/pull handle to control the diverter so the air can be directed out the bottom of the unit as heat, or out the top as defrost. It has a built in 3 speed fan, and I have the switch and wiring details. Let me know if you are interested, or need more info.

I'm interested, and would like more details- please email me, or reply here if it's easier. Thanks.

Hi Stan,
What would you like to know?
I have posted two pictures. One shows the heater vent open, and the other shows it closed. The control knob is attached to the fan unit. The mounting brackets are attached as well. The switch is not in the picture. I made a wiring diagram before I took it out.

How much? And would there be a problem shipping to the US? I assume this is Henry's three speed set-up- I'd really be excited to put something like that in my pan-based car if it would fit.

This unit looks exactly like mine(93 IM) three speed fan, and let me tell you the other day it was 35f and I had to turn it down to the first setting....I was getting hot within 10 minutes of driving the car.
Does this unit supply heat of just boost air flow?

It just boosts airflow. It's best feature is defrost, cuz it works! I am NOT interested in starting a bidding war, but don't know what it is worth so if you are interested, make an offer to me off-line.
No problem shipping to the USA, and if you are going to be at Knotts, I'll deliver it for free.

Actually, Stan said he was interested first, so maybe it's more fair if I find out what it is worth and Stan gets first shot at it? I can't imagine it will be very expensive, but I'll try to find out.

The fan is for sale again.

Yeah, sorry about that Ron. I've been stupidly busy at work, and never got back. It's my bad. The box is really cool, and would be just the ticket, but I'm going 1-5/8", and will probably do something elese with heat. Wish me luck...

Ron,
What type of heater did you put in? Was it difficult to install? Does it easily fit into the same space that the heater fan was in?

Hi David,
I am putting an espar heater in the car. I fits in roughly the same space as the fan unit, but with a few more appendages. One of the decisions is how much ducting do you want. Do you want to run up to one or two defroster ducts? Do you want heat to the floor as well? If yes, do you want seperate ducts for driver and passenger or just one duct in the middle for both. The ducts and hoses actually take up about as much space as the heater does. The heater is actually quite small.
The advantage to the fan unit is that if you are going to use heater boxes, it gets the heat into the car faster, and therefore warmer, and directs it where you want with some force.
