While the car is down for engine rebuild, I'm looking into various upgrades in other areas. Alan..one for you likely. A couple of weeks ago you related about an electric heater. Did it ever pan out to be a good idea ? I'm still liking to go with your earlier idea of heat ducting right into the tunnel. Thanks.

I did get the electric heater, hot wired it to a battery charger to see what kind of heat it would generate....it does get hot quickly ( I can't hold my hand in front of it) and would be decent in a speedster. This is ideal and much cheaper for a car that came with J tubes and not set up for heater box heat.
However ducting a good set of heater boxes into the frame horns with outlets just behind the shifter is a cooker.
I have the A-1 exhaust nd elected to build a heater box around my oil cooler. It works well, but is a little until warm up. Alan, what kind of elect. heater did you use? I would like to have a switchable to turn off when engine temp rises. I piped the oil cooler into the tubes...the cooler is mounted in the area between rear seat and firewall with a 9 inch fan mounted to cooler inside fibreglassed insulated box. Not beautiful, but functional...just a country boy!
