I just recieved a pair of vintage hella fog lamps which I want to place on the IM speedster 6 Im having built. These lights are original, beautiful chrome with vertical guards which will match the vertical guards on the headlights. Does anyone know who can rebuild them to 12v specs and who can restore the not so perfect bodiy. No dents, only scuff marks. Id like to either chrome the whole thing or prep for paint to match car color. Any ideas?

Howard,

I think the back side of those were originally painted black, with the grille and front housing chrome. You may want to consider painting the backs to match your car. (I opted to have the backs chromed through Henry.)

If you have a good local auto Electrical shop they should be able to convert the lights to 12V. Or, maybe a custom bike shop.

Henry can get them chromed for you and as Dale suggested, his body shop contact can probably take care of the dings.
Howard - I think the Hellas came painted black on the back case originally (see pics). And yes, they were quite a gift from George. Henry sent them to a local chrome shop and they did a great job for an decent price.

I am using amber bulbs now *see pic*. Congrats on finding a pair. I've only seen them on e-bay twice in the past year.

I'm having a pair of covers made... let me know if you want the pattern.

Jim, I got lucky. Ever since you e-mailed your photos, I thought about how cool matching lights would work. Marchal, Hella , Bosch all have vintage lights. I found them at auction in Germany. It was a had to have. I didnt think I would locate a pair. Excellent condition too. I want to color key them to car color if I can ever decide what color to paint this buggy.
