A big welcome. And WTTM.
Welcome to the site Shelly, great place for info and great people.
Make sure you post a picture of your car.
Shelly, before I bought a VS, I signed up on this site for help in purchase; great group of guys. Then I posted when I bought my VS and they "welcomed me to the madness". Never understood this until my first year; it was madness driving the car couldn't wait to drive it then came the madness in upgrades. So for a better place than this site, these guys are great. Happy Driving

HA! I'm glad you said it and not me.
Aye, and welcome Shelly, indeed. You're not far from Birmingham and I rode mostly BSA's all my life.
Enjoy the list, it's characters and especially the wealth of info. Tell us about your car !

Hi, Shelly, and Welcome to the Madness!
I've only seen one Chesil, on a business trip to Manchester, years back. Nicely done cars so I hope you'll be happy with it for years to come.
Let us know if you have questions - You'll surely get a lot of answers (and a bit of thread drift, too) but we can usually help.

Hi Shelly, and WTTM! Glad you're enjoying your car Tell us about it- color? What does it have for brakes- discs on the front and drums on the back, discs front and back or drums all around? Do the wheels have the old VW/Porsche 5 on 205mm, newer VW 4x130mm or Porsche 5x130mm bolt pattern? What wheels are on it? Tire size? Engine and transaxle- how much do you know about them? Size and power output of the engine? This one's out there, but do you know what gears are in the transaxle? Is it swingaxle or independent rear suspension (look at the pic below)? I know, I'm a detail junkie; you'll get used to me. And we're definitely going to need pics.
I don't know what Gordons' talking about re the thread drift thing. Oh look- belly button lint; does it pile up there on anybody else?

Hey watch out Bill. Theron recently warned us about pictures!
Car ****'s allowed, Dennis.
Bill, I was hoping to see a little tail (as in whale tail). What about seeing a little red too? On east coast, years ago, we called Bill "DOS SPEEDIE."
AHOY !!!
Welcome aboard
Road bumps are not allowed in Hawaii......
Hi Shelly. I have a Chesil too. I've been lurking on this site for years now and have learned about these cars (carburettors have been a pain for me) But also, you get ideas on how to improve the cars...accessories, what engines are possible, how to cure problems. And entertaining !!
Low profile tires
If you smoke enough weed, you don't remember hitting any bumps, you just fly over them...
