I just wanted to say hello. This site has helped a newbie like me become more informed each day. I am trying to take it slow and learn as much as I can before I dive in and make the purchase. I am in Branchburg, NJ and will make every effort to attend Carlisle next year. In the meantime, are there any other shows/get together that are coming up in the near future on the East Coast? Also, is the pricing of these cars as subjective as it seems or are there general guidelines to follow when looking to purchase a used Speedster? Thanks all and I look forward to learning more.

Bug-Out 62 (VW oriented but Replicas are there!) is 2 Sep at Old Dominion Raceway in Manassas, VA -- 200 miles south on I95. See more info under EVENTS or Google BugOut 62. Few years ago there was an incomplete grey Speedster (kit) on a trailer for $1500.

Price is variable just as options, finish, location and time of year. Speedsters a lot cheaper in Oct than in Jun on the east coast - just like fishing boats and travel trailers. Probably not much price fluctuation in Calif anytime of year. Get one now and spruce it up over the winter is ideal approach.
