Howdy to all of you Old Time SOC members. I just checked in and see things have changed for the better. My congrats to you. For those few of you who remember who I am and what I did for the SOC I want to answer some of the questions that have been emailed to me in somewhat recent times.... Yes, I am still alive ( after open heart surgery 5 years ago) and Yes, I have relocated to Prescott, Arizona {though we travel to Europe most summers) and I I still make Hood Straps and Luggage Straps (over 800+ sets.... check out www.pvsaddleshop.com and check with SOC member Troy Sloan)) and Yes, I have still have my Vintage Speedster with modifications (It has even won Peoples Choice in some Porsche shows in CO and AZ). For Old Time members I have to admit I have sold almost all of my Ferraris and other cars and now have mostly Porsches (newer 911 for the LMS and Cayman S for me) plus my old '62 and '65 Coupes. I am attempting to be Retired and the LMS is STILL gorgeous and holds her age at 36 (year after year). There , that is my post-after-a-long-time. !! I hope all are well and happy and enjoying the best part of our car hobby and passion. Happy Trails, Dusty and the LMS

Good on ya, Dusty! Glad to hear life is treating you well. Keep doing what you're doing. Safe travels to you and yours.
Oh NO! The Ferrari motorcycle is gone! I still remember the tour guy at the Harley Davidson factory just nodding his head in agreement when you showed him pictures of your red Ferrari motorcycle. Had to bite my tongue to stop from laughing in his face. Then he moved on to open-toed MUSBJIM and booted him off the HD Tour! I think Jim said he got booted out of better places!
Good to hear from you - hope you're still doing the fascinating magic tricks. I still can't find the $20 bill of mine you made disappear into thin air!

Hey Dusty! I still got a set of your excellent luggage straps. What no ferrari laptop??? I loved that.

Dusty! So very good to hear from you and that you and the Lovely Miss Sharon are both doing well. Nothing as dramatic as Open Heart stuff here.... Guess we've been lucky on this end with only the usual aches and pains of gettin' older.
I still remember this one slide from your travelogue show at Carlisle, where LMS took a shot of you, in boots and Stetson, of course, leaning way over into the unrelenting Prairie winds on the side of the highway on your way to Pennsylvania. Good times back then. Yes, I still have Pearl (although she now has gas heat!) but, alas, have given up being a "Snow Bird" and returned to Massachusetts, but this feels like home.
Hope you both continue to enjoy good health, and please post a little more often. We've missed you.
We've stayed in touch since you left the SOC, but it's great to see you back. Tell the LMS that Sally and Troy said hello.
I came on after you departed, but have heard good things about you, your work for SOC, and your products.
Stick around! Great bunch of folks with the occasional spat or someone coming on with an agenda or chip on their shoulder, but that's why there is a blocking feature by individual poster available.
Used to live in Flag, and been to Prescott many times. You chose a great place to set camp.
It's not the same place you left, Dusty. It's better. Welcome back.
Hey Dusty! Welcome BACK to the Madness!
Thanks for the kind words. Cannot say I will be on here very often as I have too many things keeping me busy these days with clubs, Boards, travel and, of course, the LMS. Just for fun here are a couple of pictures from our Christmas card (just to show you we haven't gotten THAT old ! Yet.)

At firat glance I thought the picture was from Roy Rogers and Dale Evans
Welcome back. Ray
Hi Dusty! I will never forget our meet up in Colorado and traveling together to Moro Bay and back! That was a highlight of my Speedster ownership to date--matched only by Musbejim flying to AR and riding with me to Carlisle in my Speedster one year.
The SOC has never forgotten you and all you did for the group and your name has frequently come up in nothing but positive ways and fond memories. The SOC has improved greatly with more kindness, intelligence and no more "near ****" as we were starting to see too often. Theron has continued to do a sensational job for us and you will notice many great improvements to the site that he has made.
I still have a smidgen of your miracle metal polish--I kept diluting it along the way to make it last longer. Great stuff.
The LMS looks younger lovelier every year ---you look great as well---maybe not lovelier ---but great.
I was happy to see your post and hope to see more "Dusty wisdom" occasionally, if not frequently. Take care, buddy.
Here is the link to Dusty's website. He makes the best luggage and hood straps that can be found.
Deffo recommend Dusty’s bonnet/hood straps. Even with the great British weather they are weathering great. Thank you.
For any of the Old Timers (or curious newcomers) looking for more about the LMS and myself check out our Facebook pages under PLEASANT VALLEY SADDLE SHOP and DUSTY JOHNSON. Not much data there but some fun pictures. Now ... anyone in the Arizona geography come see us in Prescott and we can talk Speedsters over a glass of wine.
Pleased to meet you, Dusty. Your legend precedes you.

Yes. I have a set on my IM6, and they are great.
Hey, nice to hear from you and glad you are both doing well. Welcome back!
Welcome Back! Glad you checked in and are both doing well.
Please continue to post - I think I still have Wolfgang's 20.00 someplace here...
Dusty, you've been away too long but it's always good to hear from you. Glad to know that you & Sharon are doing well. You're one tough cowboy so it'll take more than open-heart surgery to slow you down.
Too many great episodes to share in one post, but will say that our trip to Colorado to hang with you, Sharon and a few other SOCers was certainly a highlight. I hope that you will chime in once in a while with some pics of your adventures.
I wish you both continued good health & prosperity and hope that our paths may cross again somewhere down the road. @DustyJ
