I'm having difficulty finding items for my 82 IM D. I ordered Tokico hood lifts from autoparts warehouse and got Sachs the don't even come close. AND, rubber seals for both hoods are difficult. I am low tech when it comes to apeaking with folks who want a make, year, etc. when I tell them IM they go "I do not know of what you are speaking, that car is not on my list" or 'I have that part (after I give them the part #)", only to receive the wrong part.
I need some Tokico lifts or equivalents...AND all rubbers. Probably much other stuff!
I appreciate the feedback!

I ordered an air filter from Auto Parts Warehouse and got a wiper blade. I was told to reorder the filter, but they were out. I was then told to order the filter from someone else. I still have not gotten the instructions to return the wiper blade. I will not be ordering anything from APW again.
That's why I don't go to Autozone or Parts America. They are the least common denominator of parts stores. OK for oil, bulbs, filters, but that's about it.

There are still 2-3 Mom-Pop parts stores around here, and I still use them, have for years. And also NAPA, their counter guys are usually knowledgeable and creative. NAPA has WIX oil filters, perfect for type1 external cooler/filter setups, 51515r(r is for racing, high pressure).
i went through three sets of gas stuts trying to find one that works. physical dimesnions are easy, it's the pressure you have to worry about. I ended up shelving two brand new sets and getting a set of used ones (cleaned and painted to look new) because the pressure was enough to not flex the front hood when opening/closing.

i had great luck at a truck canopy store. they had the biggest selection and understood the pressure ranges (they are only used to open those little glass canopy gates).
