I've missed you at church, but it's good to know your still plugging away. The new house construction project is nearly done- I should be available to help you this winter. Hold on, man- help is on the way (such as it is).

As far as the question, go to Barnes and Noble and buy a "Hot VWs" magazine- there are about 5 places with multi-page (5 or 6) ads with most everything you need to get where you are going. I'd also log on "the Samba"'s classified section- there are several good sources for stuff there too.

Wow- you DID dive right in. IMHO, the failure you've outlined might be a blessing in disguise. It certainly clears the slate for something a bit more comprehensive.

If it were me, I'd think pretty hard about getting at least a long block from one of the builders that advertise on the Samba. They build a lot of these motors, and get REALLY good pricing on all the parts that nickel and dime you and I to death. In addition, they have a lot of the specialty tools that you
