Changing out my seat belts today. Thinking it would allow more clearance to get to the bolts underneath, I jacked my VS up using the rear points I found on the diagram attached here (I found it here on the site)... When I set her down I noticed 1) the wheels were bowed in slightly, and 2) the car was sitting too high.

Im not really sure what happened, but perhaps I placed the jack or stands in the wrong spot!

Anyone know what might have went wrong? Should I drive it to the shop like this?

This is normal.. you should be fine.

Simptoms: when you jack a swing Axel car up, wheels swing (tuck) in, and shocks extend.

When you lower the car, the wheels will still be a bit tucked in, and  the shocks will retain some of the extension.   The car will settle overnight.  Suspension will compress, though tires may remain a little tucked in until you roll the car forward/ back a few times.

Solution:  If you want to return your car back to its normal stand quickly, drive it around the block and weave a little left to right to load up the rear suspension..  The wheels will return to their standard position/track, and the shocks will compress back to normal with-in a lap or two around the block.

happy driving

Everything is fine! After a ride around the block, everything is back to normal.. I havn't needed to use my jack on this car yet, so I didn't know what to expect.

All said and done, now I have these cool new seatbelts that I got from Troy Sloan (I'm sure he has posted about them here )

Thanks everyone for your input! Much appreciated!
