Looking for 1 front piece (I pointed end, one beveled end)  of aluminum side trim for my VS Speedster.  I had Cathy at VS send me a replacement but it is not the same quality or shape and attaches with cheap plastic clips!    Photo attached of mine.

100_2981 to show mounting bolts and internal track to allow bolts to slide for fitting.   Please let me know if you have one (or a whole set) for sale or where I can obtain a matching piece.   Thanks, Steve  :  havels3@sbcglobal.net  or 805 226 9484

The photo is my piece of trim that was damaged.  It is probably original Porsche trim mounted with sliding mounting screws set in a moveable channel.  Very nice quality! The piece that VS sent me is cheap crap, blunt on both ends.  Attaches with plastic clips. Not even close to what I need. I hope that's not what they are using on their cars now!  I just talked to John Steele at JPS he might have a piece in his shop.  He'll let me know.  But I'm still looking, thanks.

Oh... that is what they are using on their cars.  I had him install the trim on my car when I bought it. Your description is pretty accurate.

I have not seen the Sierra Madre trim, but I have tried the NLA trim, and the front end and sliding bolt looks like the one in your picture.

Great quality, but did not fit my VS ... Pre-cut door pieces where not the same lenth as on a VS.  I think years someone posted some pictures comparing NLA/ Sierra Madre and VS pieces highlightin the differences.

yep, the cheesy thin (home-cut/bent ends) with plastic retainers is exactly what I have on my VS...unfortunately...

I'm pretty certain that all JPS and Vintage cars use the plastic retainers.  There is nothing wrong with them and I know Alan uses them and so do I.

Yes, there are nicer trim pieces available, but I personally do not think the VS trim pieces are "cheesy," I think they look just fine.
