hi. does anyone know of anybody that does a kit to transform the 911 targa. to a circa 1989 911 speedster. ie hood front screen glass etc. it seems this model is crying out for a speedster kit. any ideas kirk@cornaway.fsnet.co.uk

This is a surprisingly difficult task and expensive. I wanted to convert our 82 targa into a 911 speedster. The windshields are now made aftermarket but none of the other parts are, at least at this point. So you have to buy a factory windshield frame, factory doorglass, factory top, factory hump. Though the 911 speedster does on very rare occasion show up in a wrecking yard, the car is considered quite collectable and even used (if you EVER find it) the parts will be expensive.
I would love someone to come up with an aftermarket version of this setup. I think they look really neat! In the meantime, the targa-to-cabriolet conversion is readily available, so that's what the 82 will wind up with.
