Help with Bumper Installation/Selection Parts

Only familiar with CMC bumpers but suspect they are pretty much the same.  There have been "used" bumpers here for sale - probably a lot less than new ones from VS.  You can see the extra steel pieces that CMC uses in their '84 build manual page V-7 and V-8.  There is no reinforcement in the CMC bumpers.  

I have the Vs brackets But my bumper guards hold mine on with one bolt each the trim that fit on the bumper is cut in 3 peace's and the cuts are hidden under the guards   The 2x6 slotted tee brackets  that are a foot long can be home made from 1/4 x 3/4  keyway stock or flat iron  stock

Thanks guys.  I was trying to figure out what I needed to buy and what I could fabricate from plain stock that I can bolt through the body to the sub-frame that exists in the car already.  I was guessing that I need whatever fastens to the bumper itself and then I can take it from there depending on how I want to mount them.   I appreciate the replys as always.  If you have any pics that would be great!

Is your car a Vintage widebody?  If so, I have front and rear bumpers.

Actually it's a CMC Widebody from about 1991-92. I'm just looking to fit bumpers front and rear as I've seen a few with and really like the look.  Will yours fit?  I thought any would fit as I assumed it was only the fenders that were flared.

THE BUMPERS A PLAIN OLD FIBERGLASS.. You can do as I did and add or remove material un till your happy with the fit. Mine have a 5/8 gap all around and I added material at the top front to allow me to mount my fog lamp on  the front one

I have two used sets of CMC fiberglass bumpers and some of the metal brackets..... depends where you are as to cost to ship, as they are large.

Thanks for the thought.  I live in Newburyport, Mass. 01950 which is north of Boston.  My CMC is a Widebody version built around 1991 so would that affect what is required or would they be the same bumpers as the difference seems to be the flared fenders. Please let me know... I'd be interested.

Grayhound ships (terminal to terminal) awkward items such as this surprisingly cheap.

 

Suggest lots of protective bubble-wrap since it gets handled a lot being transferred from bus to bus.

 

Estimated 'delivery' is at best a guess, and 'intransit tracking info' doesn't exist...but it sure is easy on the wallet!

I'm sure CMC only produced one version of the bumpers.  They do look a little out of place on a widebody - like even if they were wider, they could (NOT) protect the flares. Cut in half and I'm sure shipping would be much cheaper.  Easy to repair cut when you repaint.

I don't really think they would provide much protection if they were twice as wide being fiberglass and all so...
