I would send it to a dye shop. There are places that will dye your items for like $15. per pound plus a fee of like $50. Google fabric dye.I would use a pro because of uniformity, color-fastness and bleed out

Spray carpet dyes have worked for me on fabric.

On carpets, they won't do a complete color change but they do give older carpets a fresh look. I've used SEM brand vinyl dyes for carpets.

If it has not been treated,it should not be a problem to dye a white item black.
Looks like it would be $100 to dye it then. For another $50-100 you could probably get a new one made. All the vinyl dye say "not for fabrics" and the stayfast stuff is like fabric and rubber. Think I'd sell the one you don't like andhave a new one made in color you want. This Ragg-Top stuff is what a friend of mine uses on his BMW's top.
