How do I get the width of the rim? Attached is a photo of one of my rims. I have been told that they are from a Porsche and probably 911 or 933. I do not know the year. How do I get the width of the rim? I am interested in the width because I want do purchase new tires for the front and desire to get the smallest width tire and I do not want to purchase a tire to find out it will not mount on the rim.

The width and offset on your Porsche wheels are marked next to the valve stem.

On other rims, it's typically marked somewhere on wheel, like stamped on the back. If you wanted to actually measure it, it's the distance between the inside of the rim beads (to the nearest half inch):

And if you can't measure the inside of the bead, but you can measure to the outside of the beads, you can typically just subtract 1 inch from that outside measurement to get the width.
