I bought it full well knowing I might need to put in a whole new pedal assembly. Before I tear into this... figured I'd ask around. The pedal at full pressure is straight up, which is a good angle to me, for starting brake application. I teach racing and have driven literally hundreds and hundreds of hours of Formula cars with bottom mount pedals. I have a pretty good feel for what feels like a good angle to me..... and this doesnt! I don't feel any pedal back stop/bolt stop and the pushrod is adusted to full short. Before I start ripping pedals apart, and or cut mine up and TIG them back in at a better angle, are these VW pedals? I'll try to get some better pics soon. Thanks guys!

It's held down by a that's on a bolt welded to the floor pan. You can use a socket wrench and loosen the nut to reposition the pedal stop, then tighten it down. Make sure you leave just a bit of free play in the pedal. If you can't move it away from you while still having a little free play, the push rod is too long and needs adjusting. You MAY be able to do that without loosening or removing anything. I will try to remember to take a picture tomorrow when there's sufficient light.
