I have a pioneer stereo in the coupe. It has a connection for my ipod and has worked perfectly. yesterday i did something and the stereo is now in a "Control Ipod" mode when i plug the ipod in and it wont let me play my Ipod. The instruction book talks about getting it into the control mode but offers no info on getting out of the control mode. Anyone have any suggestions?

Gerd:

Does the cable from the Pioneer to the IPOD connect to the headphone jack on the top of the IPOD, or to the docking connector on the bottom of the IPOD?

If it connects to the headphone jack and you go into IPOD control mode, then the Pioneer most likely ignores the cable input from the headphone jack which is typically connected to an "AUX" input on the Pioneer, not the IPOD control interface. Two different, switchable inputs.

As far as getting out of IPOD Control mode, you'll need to peruse the user manual more closely - there must be something in there to tell you how to toggle in and out of control mode. Usually it's part of the function switch menu - once you get to the IPOD control function, then the left or right arrows usually control toggling a function on or off.

BTW: When I got the radio for my car (a Pioneer, too) I found it complicated enough that I keep the user manual right in the car.

good luck.

THE CABLE FROM THE IPOD TO THE PIONEER IS VIA THE DOCKING CONNECTOR ON THE BOTTOM OF THE IPOD
ILL TELL U I HAVE READ AND REREAD THIS MANUAL AND NO INSTRUCTIONS ON GETTING OUT OF THE CONTROL MODE
I WALKED DOWN TO THE BEST BUY YESTERDAY AND TALKED TO A KID WHO INSTALLS STEREOS FOR THEM
I BROUGHT THE CAR TO WORK TODAY AND HE IS GOING TO LOOK AT IT
VERY FRUSTRATING CAUSE
I WANNA PLAY THAT DAM COWBOY SONG JIM USED FOR HIS LAST VIDEO
THANKS
OK THE KID AT BEST BUY SOLVED THE PROBLEM
IT WASNT THE PIONEER UNIT IT WAS THE IPOD
HE SIMPLY RESET THE IPOD AND ITS BACK TO NORMAL
HE SAID THEY HAD A RED SPEEDSTER IN LAST WEEK AND INSTALLED A UNIT IN IT. NOT SURE IF IT WAS A REAL ONE OR A REPLICA BUT HE SAID THE GUY WHO OWNED IT WAS AN ACTOR.
