Just wanted to give Henry some public kudos for his help in getting me a front fender for my severaly damaged CMC speedster. His fender arrived today in Massachusetts in great shape. It is more then I need to repair the car. His price was great and it was delivered as promised.
Its nice to be able to do business with people like Henry who can deliver on what they promise.
Now I just need it to warm up a little.....

I'll jump in on this. Henry and his band of merry elves turn out an extremely high quality product in a very quiet and unpretentious way. The fit and finish is impresive to say the least.

I don't think any of our cars qulify as 'KIT' cars. They are not rebodied Fieros. They are each of them a hand built car. The only difference is the hands that make them. Good quality flows from the hands at IM and is a boon to all of our cars.

To say nothing of the fact that Henry is a really nice guy!!
Well, I gotta add my thoughts too. I like Henry, like him alot. I am really glad that he lives 900 miles away though. I've had dinner with him and his mom, breakfast with him and his wife and 3 gorgeous kids, and spent time BSing over coffee/biscotti. If he lived closer, I'd never get anything done around the house and my wife would probably not recognize me. Not only a great builder, but a great husband, dad and friend.
The thing about Henry is he loves his work, and it shows, both in the quality of car he builds, and in his dealings with customers.

I live close so unlike Dale, I get to spend too much time down at IM, and I get to see how Henry treats your cars before you get them. In OZ's 'vintage vs JPS' thread Paul mentioned that there is no such thing as perfect. Henry might disagree. If he knows there is a flaw in a car, he will not ship that car until it is right, no matter the cost. I've seen it, and it's very impressive.
Someone once said: "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low cost is forgotten". Generally speaking, companies that set customer satisfaction/perfect quality and a fair price for the value received as their overarching goal are very successful. Henry/IM is certainly a good example of this approach to doing business.
Having a bad day ? Feeling a little cynical about the way things look in our big bad world ? Give Henry a call and talk for a bit about anything. He'll lift your spirits. Besides being an incredible tradesman, he's one hell of a man. (But jeez, don't tell him I told you to call, the other guys will be pissed, he's got a lot of work to do !)
I just had Henry fabricate a bulge under the engine grill to clear my 911 shroud. I brought it in and he shipped it back to me in a few days, and it was perfect!
I don't like going to his shop, because every time I do I want to sell my 84 IM and buy a new one.
I think that the motor that Jake built for Paul, in a new IM, would be an awesome combo. . . I can dream.

Bryant: I missed you, too, along with Ted Hatem from NH.

In fact, I think there were a LOT of people who showed up, not necessarily in their Speedsters or Spyders, who I missed.

Right Coast Bruce: Looks like we'll just have to stage another major event so we can meet the rest of the crowd!

Who's interested in meeting Brian Puskas when he moves from the "Perpetually Frozen North" of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada, to Niagara in a couple of years? We could turn that into a major event........Line the street with Speedsters to welcome him to a warmer climate!! Sweet!
I might just take you up on that offer Gord....

I should try to get some pictures of the Niagara area there posted...it has one of the best drives...the Niagara Parkway (known as the Parkway).

As a young and foolish kid I used to join my buddies late at night cruising the Parkway...if you call 100 mph cruising (like I said, young and stupid). At a time when most young kids had the Camaro's and 'tangs we had Opel GTs, Spitfires, Alfa's, Fiat X19 (front trunk makes a dandy beer cooler lined with 2 inch foam!)...real oddball cars. Guess that's what attracts me to the Tub.

That Niagara region has a lot to offer...world class wineries, live theater, fruit stands, great parks, lots of bars...of course I was out kite skiing on Sunday and Monday on the ice on the lake here...how many of you can say you did that? ;-(

I'll be there on the 7th of June. Son graduating from University in TO (now if only he could get a job!) and I'll be at the Prince of Wales in NOTL at least a couple of afternoons/evenings.

Jeesh, who woulda known I would be missed ! It's nice to be loved !
Hell ya, I was there and had a great time too. No T-shirt, but I have the sunburn to prove it ! Great group of folks and a cool assortment of cahhs ! Looking forward to next year, hope to be piloting my own Roadster by then.
Hello to Bob C. and Mary, glad to have made your aquaintance...
Missed Gordon's caravan and didn't dare stay caught up in the traffic snarl on the way in. Guess I should have made a greater effort to meet up with you Bruce, Thanx for all your efforts !
Hi Brian:

My brother's business is 5 minutes up the street from Convocation Hall at U of T. Perhaps we could meet. If you have time, I could show you my 911 project speedster. I ended up buying a 1996 Intermeccanica Roadster from BC with Henry's help, but plan on taking lots of time to do the 911 powered speedster. I live 45 minutes east of Toronto.

Bill et al:

It was extremely difficult meeting everyone. I had an SO.com meeting on the schedule every day but we never noted a time - so much to do and so little time, three days FLEW by. Gave out nametags to every owner that arrived but it's just a blur now. Now I just look at the photos and keep rerunning the movies :>) BTW, we had two owners from Florida there too, Jim Bauer and Greg Phelps who weren't able to get their cars up but did fly in for the Meet.

Henry was very committed to the Meet and getting involved. Also found John Steele and Carey Hines great to talk with and involved with the action.
I think we are quite blessed in this hobby to have builders who have earned our praise. And I too regret not getting around to meeting everyone at Carlisle, like Alan Merklin - whenever I looked for him, it seemed he was surrounded by other people, I hope to catch up with you next time Alan.
Greg

Sorry I didn't get to meet you as well as a few other famous speedster owners! I was hit with with many questions and good conversation .
My wife left the show area in her "Ziata" for the hotel and all I had to do was park my speedster under the NJ Replicar Club tent for the night and drive my truck to the hotel ...somehow, that took another two hours...the result of good gab!
