Those Sprints still do it for me today the same as they did when I first saw them in those tire ads in the back of R&T back in the late 70’s, early 80’s.

XZXs and dog bone Dunlop Racing tires are the only thing that comes close. Maybe P7’s.

eta: I’ve posted this interesting bit about the spacers on the rear wheels before.

The 1957 Carrera GT 356 coupe and Carrera GT Speedster used the 60mm wide front drum brakes from the Spyder. Consequently, these ‘GT’ wheels have 20mm more backspacing than a stock 356 wheel to accommodate the wider drums and provide the same front track width. The same offset was used on the rear wheels, but five threaded barrel type spacers were used so the rear track would match the front.

My brother had a set of 10" X 7" wide Mini-Lites on his original Mini Cooper S.

It was like driving a 4-seat Go-Kart.....   With heat.

The Coopers also had dual gas tanks, one at each rear corner.  You could pull up to two gas pumps, park between them and fuel up both at once.  I think they were both something like 7 gallon tanks.
