hex bar ?

can someone please tell me where to get a better quality hex bar than the one that comes on a beck spyder? there seems to be a bit of side to side slop that i would like to be rid of . thanks . david

you can buy a cheap metal replacement direct from CB. I have.

Or you can buy a higher quality hex bar and have it tapped on the ends - one source is www.mcmaster.com

What is a hex bar and could I be having side to side slop I don't realize I'm having? I would hate to miss an opportunity to neglect a problem that might cost me more money. :-)

You do want about 1/8" side to side play. The "bad" hex bar wear is inside the holes on the ends. When the ball tip that the hex bar rides on wears a groove inside the hex bar, then it is hard to sync the throttles because the grooves cause slop that can't be predictably adjusted.

So, a tiny bit side to side is what you want. But back and forth or up and down is not good.

I couldn't remeber if that was the bar I used to frequent. We went in ok, come out like zoombies. I thought it was called the "Hex Bar". ...glad I was wrong!
