To have a book-end car for the other side of your garage!

I'll house the RS for you, and you could have a second Spyder to use while the existing one cools off and vice-versa! No offense to Carey, but if you lost that ugly technological crap in the middle of the dash and 'glassed over the hole ...

Dude even has an Eye-talian name -- maybe he'll cut youse a break?

The darts are sexy.

The dash. Hmm. I say leave it in, but build a stainless cover, very simple looking, maybe machine turn it, maybe some engraving in the middle, to cover the whole thing. But flip up so you can actually use the screen. Plus the flip up cover would shield it from the sun and make it easier to see.

As far as fast goes, if it's not fast enough to scare the poop out of you now and then, then it's just transportation.

"Sounds to me like you have to use the screen to start the car!"

Yes, the screen controls everything in the car, lights, wipers, ignition... Initially they had it control the dimmer and the horn (for the SEMA show) but I relocated those to the turn signal unit and the horn button afterwords)
I think it has been covered before; but... I built it for ISIS to display at the SEMA show (I am not a fan of anything cut through the dash of a speedster or spyder) just my 2c. BUT this car served a purpose, attracted an assload of attention at SEMA, and is pretty darn fun to drive.
FWIW one could delete the ISIS screen and the cost of the body work on the dash could easily be offset by selling the touch screen (at the time a $1200 option)
Our standard "James Dean" themed darts, red with a thin gold pinstripe. A common option for us, but usually done on a silver car. This is the only Spyder I've ever seen painted in "Vapor" which was a special order Beetle color from around the time the New Beetle was launched.
I thought we had talked about that car while you were building it, but I couldn't remember.

Vapor was a turbo option paint color, like that orange they also use, right?
I couldn't see any blue in the pictures. It looks white on my phone.

Disregard, Danny. Not the bookend I thought it was -- but you could still ship that RS my way for safe-keeping.
Thanks, Gordon, you were turning a little TC on me! No offense, Tom!

I had thought about painting my Spyder Vapor originally, but went with Audi TT silver first. I really like the white, as it is totally different than 95% of the Spyders out there. They are all silver, except mine and Angela's black one. White was the color of choice for American owned racers in the 50s, regardless of country of origin, if that explains my choice.

Vapor is like a blue-tinged white if I remember. It looks more blue in person than it does in the pics. BTW, Carey, I am with you on the screen, it doesn't belong on a Spyder, but I am positive it attracted a heck of a lot of attention!

Cory, you know you can drive my ride anytime you want, either here or in Carlisle! To your house, HELL NO! She's in the garage, battery tender in place. Ready any time the weather cooperates, like New Years Day!
