I visited JPS a couple of week ago and he just got a flared coupe body painted. It is very nice

Very cool looking!
Drool... Coupe
Excuse my ignorance. Is this John's first attempt at a wide body coupe?
I like this color and (I think) I like the new, in vogue, frozen finish, though maybe some clear coat is next. I envision a neat set of black wheels of some sort under those fenders, but I suppose we'll have to see what this customer has in mind. Neat!
THIS IS HIS 4TH

I HAVENT DECIDED ON WHEELS
So...this is your new coupe, Gerd? Really?
That matte finish is the rage now in Europe. The finest cars have it. I haven't seen any such paint in the U.S. yet---this is the first.
I don't like it at all myself ---looks like primer waiting on a finish coat ---but to each his own.
NO JUST JOKING WITH U GUYS ALTHOUGH THIS WILL BE THE BODY STYLE BUT NOT THE COLOR. JOHN HAS REALLY DONE GOOD ON FLARING THE COUPES. IM LEANING ON SOME SORT OF ORANGE OR YELLOW. IM ALSO IN LOVE WITH FLAT BLACK LATELY. I LIKE THE FLAT COLOR LOOKS RATHER THAN THE GLOSS.
The turbo Veloster is available with a matte finish.
Hi Gerd,
I had a flat black picture that was out on the internet that I sent John, and he advised me against the color. I looked a little like this
Just keep in mind that trendy colors in time, tend to loose their uniqueness and in time make for a less then decent resale.
Flat black?
When I was a youngster flat primered 'low riders & hot rods' ...in all the shades from black to off white... were not only acceptable auto finishes but (economically) preferred.
Troy Ruttman, the Indy 500 winner in '52, lived in my town and drove a '40 Ford coupe primered a dusty pink...everyone referred to it as 'tittie pink'...that color just never caught on with the cool modified crowd though!

Yep, my brother had a 1950 Ford. He couldn't afford a real paint job, so he spray bombed it flat black. With fender skirts, metal windshield visor, 'Frenched' lights front and rear, he was in heaven back then.
A flathead V8 and standard transmission completed the magic. For a young kid, that was a great car.
Bob-you'll get a chuckle out of "YouTubes" $50-dollar Rustoleum roller paint job videos. For some beaters, it seems, you CAN put lip-stick on a pig!
