Hello,
We are traveling to California this week and will have 3 days for fun....I would like to visit a few cool car places if possible. We will be in Irvine. Are there any local Porsche places...or any other cool car things to do? Please share any suggestions.
Thanks in advance!
Timothy,

If you are driving crosscountry, stop in OKC and I'll give you directions to a fabulous car museum located in a old leased three bay paint & body buisness. It holds a 1957 Vintage Speedster, a 54 Chevy 1/2ton retro truck rod, Triumph ST. a 37 Harley Flathead with sidecar, and my parts runner; an 86 Jeep Cherokee with 2" lift, Mickeys, and some nice bondo work. There's a pop and candy machine at my Bro-In-Laws Biz next door for the kiddies, and for real entertainment we can watch a SWAT team take down a crack house in the neighborhood behind the shops.

Frontier City Amusement park is two miles away from the shop and then for a miminal fee you can spend the night in a deluxe family tent for 8 in my back yard. Gas Grill included! The house gargae features an 04 TLS 3.2, pristine 94 RX7 Turbo with mods, and an 02 Chevy Tahoe.

I know it's not on the order of the great car museums in LA.... but between the east coast and west, this is as good as it gets out here in nowehere.

San Diego has an Auto Museum, that is pretty cool, there is a
Winery/auto museum in Escondido called Deer Park, that is a must see,
mostly 50/60's convertibles in a park setting....and several Antique/vintage/specialty auto dealers that are very cool.
Plus if you are talked into crossing the border into Mexico, Puerto
Nuervo for lobster/Marguritas is a must....(just past Rosarita)
Lots to do in San Diego...
If you're going to be in Irvine, I'd consider stopping up at Vintage Speedsters if you're into Speedsters. I was in Irvine last year at this time, I drove the 13 miles north and visited VS for about 2 hours. It was great. I even took Kirk's wife's car out for a test drive.

I owned a '83 IM at the time... a few months later, after driving a newer VS I sold my IM and bought a '01 VS.

Anyway, visiting VS was a memory I won't forget. It's worth the trip.
