Thanks for posting the shots of your wide fives with the discs painted. What a dramatic difference in the look of your Speedy! Congrats, your Speedster is looking better all the time. How much did you invest to get it all right?

You know- I LOVE that look. Chrome, Biven's, painted steelies, stock drums, CB's, Drumskins- I'm just nuts about the no-cap, wide 5 look. Doggone it! Just one more thing I think I gotta get, that I didn't even know I wanted a year ago...

All it took was 10 bucks and two hours of my time.I went to the parts store and got "Brite touch" General purpose primer.I did 3 coats of primer(10 minutes apart).Then I used "Dupli-color" high performance wheel coating (2 coats,10 min apart).I made sure the hubs were clean prior to paint with steel brush.The original plan was to buy dram skinz from fibersteel but I had no clearenceso that was my next step.How do you like my new steering wheel and bezels? We covet only what we see . . . I think that Tom Harris wrote that and he was SO right! I didn't want them 'till I saw the photos of them all done up nice.

NARDI wheel? Are those the new aluminum bezels that stick right over the 914 gauges? They look SHARP!

I am glad you liked my little project. The steering wheel is NOT NARDI, it is GRANT, the horn button is MOMO. If you want more info on the steering wheel let me know.The bezels are new aluminum,I bought them from a SOC member last week.

I used a "hammered" finish paint on my drums. It added some nice texture to the look. I used blue, but they have silver, green, and red available. I believe it was Rustoleum, and I got it at Home Depot. I think I may have some pics...

GRANT?! Like the wheels that are at Auto Zone, GRANT? The last time I owned a GRANT wheel it had a blue sparkle rubber rim and I was sixteen and a half!

That's a super looking, very vintage/correct looking wheel . . . was it a special order or did you walk in and find it there?

Belive it or not it is Grant.The car came with a "small" Grant steering wheel so the adapter was there so I thought to check them out.So I found this one and I love it. If you go to www.grantproducts.com the part #992 and the price is 153.87.Also you can find it at www.summitracing.com part #GRT-992 for 107.69.It is a genuine hardwood walnut finish with finger grips and rivets. Again Moto Lita was the original goal but I found this one. Very happy.Let me know if you have more questions.

How about some info on the MOMO horn button, did it come with the porsche creat? Require any adapting to fit the wheel? Where did you buy it?

My last steering wheel was Grant also so I didn't have to buy the adapter. I got my steering wheel from www.summitracing.com part #GRT 992. About the horn button yes, it came with the Porsche crest.If you are interested in buying the same steering wheel, find out (or I can measure for you) the horn button diameter and then you can order a new one from MOMO.If you have more questions let me know.

Do those aluminum gauge bezels come standard fitament on 914s? I've a set of 914 gauges in my Speedster that can benefit from a set of bezels like those.
