Well Jan and I pulled in about 4pm today. Raining, my wife's car's battery was dead so I had to leave baby outside while I charge the Jetta's battery. Too tired to reduce my pictures to show what a lousy photographer I am after watching Sandy's video. Looks like I drove nearly 3300 miles, I'll let Gerd give the details on fuel consumption, spent an estimated $400 on gas, (estimated because last 3 fill up haven't hit my credit card yet. We cruised along at 60-65 mph on cruise control, only turning 2000 rpm. Stopped at a War Bird Museum but missed the turn off for the Navy Seals/UDT Museum. Loved driving through Georgia, they love military vets, the hotels gave better discounts for military than AARP. Like Aaron I lost a windshield wiper heading back to Knoxville to pick mien Frau, will order a set later, seems running the wipers at high speed. the blade and adjusting arm tend to come loose under road vibration and the drag on the glass. This time a touch of JB Weld will solve future loss's. It was great meeting the new people and renewing old acquaintances. Thanks go out to Wobbly(?) our fearless leader of the covered bridge cruise, a convoy of MGs and 356s must have been a sight for the farmers, cows, goats and dogs as we sped through the country side. Sorry I couldn't shoot a video but did click off a few still shots to be posted soon.
