Terry,
Well, we all have our points of view on this, I guess. My parents could not afford to pay for my college so I got a job and eventually got lured away from college (believe it or not, I went sports car racing, but that's a story for another day) because I was not focused at that age on my future. My one regret in life is that I did not finish college and pursue the career I was interested in. That said, I am not complaining, life is good and I can help my kids (and buy my toys). I want the kids concentrating on their future goals and to that end, my boy is on a partial scholarship to USC law (he was offered a full ride to Univ. of Fla, but UCS is a better law school) and doing very well there, the next oldest (three girls one boy in college) is on a partial scholarship in Anthropology at the Univ. of Central FL, the youngest daughter is on a partial scholarship at North Carolina School of the Arts (very prestigious school in the performing arts) in a very challenging program. My oldest daughter is married and owns her own business, and yes, she also got some help from dad. I am 100% confident that my kids will all do well in their careers and lives; none has had drug issues (unlike many of their peers) no out of wedlock babies, no arrests, no drunken driving, no attempted suicides etc. etc.
All in all, the kids are doing well and although on different paths (two liberals, two conservatives), who could ask for more; my legacy is my children, their success is mine (and the wife's too) as well.
Speedster deal about done, news soon.
:)
