Has anybody installed HID in their Speedsters? What kind of lighting changes have you guys made? I remember along time ago, a company was making a light assy with Turn signals installed in the lower portions of the old style bugs. Not sure if it would fit the speedster??? Any Ideas????

Thanks
Tom
funny - i was reading an older "Performance VW" magazine this morning and thought about this.

I have not done the electrical on my speedster yet, so now is the time to start thinking about this (for me)

USD funds: $65 + $50 shipping (international)

* 2 x HID Bulbs
* 2 x Ballasts
* 2 x Secure Mounting Brackets
* 2 x Power Cables
* 4 x Zip ties
* All necessary wires and accessories
* Installation Manual (English)

seems like a not so bad deal to me. 3100 lumens is pretty dammmm bright.

there are even cheaper ones (make sur eyou look for a real one with ballasts). Looks like ~$60usd will get you a set.

you will, however, need a new actual headlight assembly to house an H$ style bulb. http://www.cip1.ca/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ACC%2DC10%2D7590
You burned out TWO? Egads! My headlamp for cycling is HID. Going on 6 years, 7 24 hour races, copious morning and night rides and I don't want to even think about how many times I've crashed with the lamp on...

STill on the original bulb. I did buy a spare this winter - $17.00 -as I had misplaced my other unused spare. Bulb was cheap, headlamp set with extra battery $600.

Did VW want a portion of the headlamp assembly or was that astronomical price just for the bulb?
