I'm looking for a high mount third brake light to mount on my speedster between the boot lid and the hood. Does anyone have one for sale or know where I can get one? (www.PlatinumSpeedsters.com feature cars with this on their site, but I haven't had a reply from my enquiry to them). Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Three ways to do this:
1. buy a used third brake light assembly (a forum member as done this....I think it's from a Dodge.. something)
2. Buy a light that fits in the engine grill (see above post)
3. Buy an LED licence plate (cheaper to buy the licence plate, buy the LED light and then put them together. J.C. Whitney has cheap LED light strips.

Heres another option I am thinking about - JCW has a 4 1/2w x 1/2 h x 1" sealed led set-up for abt 10 bucks. I think this could be easily mounted up high just underneath/sticking out from top or tonneau. I have a center snap that is in the way, but I think you might be able to get away with unscrewing it from the car and just not snapping down the center one. Attach led to body w/ds tape or velcro.
I dont have enuf room in my engine grill area to get a light in there unless its way down low.

Check out the gallery in www.PlatinumSpeedsters.com - which is where I'm getting it from. You can see it already fitted to one of their cars (the red one - check out the Auckland Sky Tower in the background across the harbour while you're at it - not that I'm home sick you understand!). The light is fitted in the centre between the boot lid and the edge of the canvass hood. I guess it's an LED light, but its no hassle if not. Price is NZ$75 - i.e approx
